Taylor Alie threw for four touchdowns as
Sheldon (Eugene, Ore.) upset Crater (Central Point, Ore.) 48-0 on Saturday.
The Irish were up 27-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Alie to
Connor Strahm in the first quarter.
Sheldon expanded its lead to 41 points entering the fourth quarter. SHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Marcus McGovern.
The Eugene school went into the matchup giving up only 17.0 points per game. The Comets' zero points were well below their season average of 26.2 per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Irish came away with a 42-0 victory.
The loss comes after Crater defeated North Medford 46-12 last week. The loss snapped Crater's 3-game winning streak.
Sheldon (6-0) goes up against Roseburg in a 6A Southwest game matchup next week, while Crater (3-3) locks horns with Thurston also in a 6A Southwest game.
