If St. Anne beats Metro-East Lutheran with 61 points on Saturday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Cardinals blew past Blue Ridge, posting a 61-12 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cardinals' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Knights are ranked 28th).

Among those leading the charge was Matthew Langellier, who picked up 76 receiving yards and two TDs. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more receiving touchdowns the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, Metro-East Lutheran really took it to Oblong for the full four quarters, racking up a 44-14 victory.
St. Anne better keep an eye on Abe Oberhauser. He was instrumental in Metro-East Lutheran's win, rushing for 121 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 173 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Oberhauser didn't just play on offense: he also made eight total tackles and defended two passes. Ian Skelton was in the mix as well, providing Metro-East Lutheran with two TDs.
Metro-East Lutheran was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 242 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 242 rushing yards in five consecutive contests.
Metro-East Lutheran didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Isaak Broekemeier.
