            Softball Recap: Maine-Endwell Spartans vs. Vestal Golden Bears        
        
		
        
        
            Maine-Endwell came out on top against Vestal  on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Spartans took their   match against the Golden Bears   6-3. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Golden Bears  last Thursday, they had to take a  5-3  defeat.

 Tessa L'Amoreaux made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out seven batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   five  hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Isabel Hunter, who  went 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  RBI.
The  win made it two in a row for Maine-Endwell and  bumps their season record up to 7-3. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6  runs in those games. As for Vestal, their loss  ended  an  11-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 6-2.
 Looking ahead, Maine-Endwell will welcome Southside  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Vestal, they are taking a road trip to  challenge Chenango Valley  at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The Golden Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 8.1  runs per game this season.
