Adrian waltzed into their match on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Sherwood Marksmen 3-0. The Blackhawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Marksmen, too.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-11, 25-20.

Lizzie Clifton paced Adrian's offense, picking up 15 kills. Clifton got some help from Grace Engeman and her 33 assists. Engeman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Adrian's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Sherwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Adrian will be playing at home against Harrisonville at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sherwood, they are taking a road trip to square off against Versailles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
