Baseball Recap: Deptford Takes a Loss

Kingsway hit Deptford with a four-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dragons. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Deptford's defeat dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Kingsway, their victory bumped their record up to 17-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Deptford will challenge Buena at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chiefs have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Kingsway, they will take on Gloucester Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
