Pearl City had to settle for second on Thursday, but Kendra Kuhlemeier sure wasn't going down easily. Kuhlemeier wasn't messing around, striking out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. The pitching appearance was her third straight with six or more strikeouts.

Looking ahead, Kuhlemeier and Pearl City are taking a road trip to face off against Durand at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Kuhlemeier had to take a defeat the last time the two teams duked it out, losing their contest back in April 15-6.
