Basketball Recap: Cedar Bluffs Comes Up Short

Cedar Bluffs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Shelby-Rising City Huskies, falling 59-29. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Huskies from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dawson Novotny, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Carter Hermanson, who had six points and six rebounds.

Dalton Pokorney was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds for Shelby-Rising City. Noah Thelen was another key player, going 6 of 11 on his way to 17 points and three steals.

Cedar Bluffs' defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Shelby-Rising City, they moved to 3-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Cedar Bluffs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-12 loss against Mead on the 7th. As for Shelby-Rising City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 54-51 defeat against High Plains on the 3rd.
