Softball Recap: Langley Saxons vs. South Lakes Seahawks

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Langley can now relate to. They fell 7-2 to the South Lakes Seahawks on Friday. Langley's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Norah Jacques spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in 20 consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Langley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caitlin Hohenthaner, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a double.

Langley's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-5-1. As for South Lakes, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9-1 record this season.
