Football Recap: Sandpoint Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Sandpoint had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 28-27 victory over the Twin Falls Bruins. The win almost wasn't to be: the Bulldogs were down 21-7 in the third quarter.

Braden Buckhout looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 46 yards and one score, while also throwing for 212 yards on 19 of 27 attempts. Those 46 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Although Twin Falls took the loss, they still got scores from Ty Hess, Adam Neil Dewit, and Brogan Bruns.

Coming up, Sandpoint is taking a road trip to challenge Teton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Twin Falls, they will be playing at home against Vallivue at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
