Baseball Recap: Six Straight Home Victories for Goodrich

There's no place like home for Goodrich, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the New Lothrop Hornets on Saturday. The Martians haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Ivan Kosmerick looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Kash Bohlen was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Scott Pethers was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Goodrich always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Lothrop only posted an OBP of .318.

Goodrich's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for New Lothrop, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Goodrich wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 12-0 win against Corunna on the 14th. As for New Lothrop, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-0 victory against Montrose on the 14th.
