Volleyball Recap: Smithfield-Selma Takes a Loss + How To Watch

The Smithfield-Selma Spartans came up short against the Garner Trojans on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-14, 25-17.

Smithfield-Selma's offense was headlined by Antonella Sanchez and Kaylie Gilyardi, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Karmen Cyrus and her ten assists.

Among those leading the charge was Reagan Avis, who had four aces and one assist. That's the most aces she has posted over her last seven contests. Elli Pittman also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Smithfield-Selma's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Garner, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

Smithfield-Selma didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Southeast Raleigh on the 4th. As for Garner, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Cleveland on the 4th.
