League recap: Golczewski dominating on the mound for Patterson Mill

Upper Chesapeake Bay league recap: 5/21/12

Upper Chesapeake Bay's top pitcher this week was Patterson Mill's Matt Golczewski. Over the past week, he had three wins and 17 Ks.

Griffin Marge was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .357 average, one home run and nine RBIs. Meanwhile, Patterson Mill put together a 4-0 week.

Although the 37 runs scored by Perryville topped the league, Harford Tech maintained its lead in the league with 265 runs this season.

Even after stealing 13 bases to lead the league over the past week, the Panthers are still looking up at North Harford, which ranks No. 1 in steals, with 57 on the year. Jesse Ellis leads Perryville with 10 swipes so far this season.

Golczewski led the league with eight hits this week for Patterson Mill. His 36 hits for the year are second in the league, and he boasts a .439 batting average.



Kevin Mooney threw a shutout as he led North Harford to victory over Eastern Tech, 5-0, on Wednesday. He struck out 17, allowing one hits.
