Softball Game Preview: St. Monica Mariners vs. Serra Cavaliers

The St. Monica Mariners will challenge the Serra Cavaliers at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in St. Monica's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Serra has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

St. Monica lost 12-3 to Venice on Wednesday.

Savanna Hernandez and Ali Vogler did some serious damage despite the final result: Hernandez scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Vogler scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Serra scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary, falling 23-7.

Jada Jones was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base.

St. Monica now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Serra, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Serra's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: St. Monica hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .387. It's a different story for Serra, though, as they've only averaged .247. Will they be able to contain St. Monica's hitters?
