Basketball Recap: Tuscarawas Valley Trojans vs. Fairless Falcons

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hiland, the Tuscarawas Valley Trojans were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They walked away with a 42-29 victory over Fairless. Given Tuscarawas Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while the Falcons are ranked 674th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for John Leffler, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Clements, who scored five points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Tuscarawas Valley pushed their record up to 8-8 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Fairless, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tuscarawas Valley will take on the Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Indian Valley will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Fairless, they will be playing at home against the Red Riders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Orrville is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
