Softball Recap: Leipsic Comes Up Short

Leipsic had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 4-16 to make it four. They came up short against the Arcadia Redskins, falling 16-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Redskins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 back in April.

As for Arcadia, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-11. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.

For Arcadia's part, Addison Colman was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most stolen bases Colman has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Allyson McCartney, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leipsic will square off against Van Buren at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Arcadia, they will challenge Ridgemont at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Gophers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.7 runs per game on average), something the Redskins will no doubt try to take advantage of.
