The Bishop Verot Vikings will challenge the Southwest Florida Christian King at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Verot is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Bishop Verot took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over Charlotte. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Fightin' Tarpons: they've now won five in a row.

Crimson Lawrence was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on McKenna Robbins, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Willa Pagnutti, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Bishop Verot hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Charlotte struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, Southwest Florida Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Mariner by a score of 1-0. The King's were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the four contests prior), but the Tritons' pitcher proved too tough.
Bishop Verot's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Southwest Florida Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bishop Verot has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Southwest Florida Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Bishop Verot's way against Southwest Florida Christian in their previous meeting back in March, as Bishop Verot made off with a 10-3 victory. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the King's turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
