Football Recap: James Monroe Falls Short of Mingo Central in the Playoffs + How To Watch

James Monroe and Mingo Central squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but James Monroe had to settle for second. They fell 24-14 to the Miners. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mavericks of the 41-21 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2016.

Bam Coleman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mingo Central, rushing for 170 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards Coleman has posted since back in August. Terrindez Bryant got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

James Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Mingo Central, their record now sits at 9-2.

James Monroe does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mingo Central, they will face off against Frankfort at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Falcons' defense has only allowed 10.1 points per game this season, so the Miners' offense will have their work cut out for them.
