Softball Game Preview: Bessemer City Tigers vs. Paul W. Bryant Stampede

The Bessemer City Tigers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Paul W. Bryant Stampede at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Things were looking good for Bessemer City after they put the first points on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Huffman by a score of 8-7. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost four in a row.

Whitley Phillips made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Jaida Archie, who scored a run and stole Two bases.

Meanwhile, Paul W. Bryant came into Monday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They and Selma finished up their matchup with a 22-22 tie two weeks ago. One positive for the Stampede, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

With that tie, Paul W. Bryant's record moves to 0-5-1. As for Bessemer City, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
