Recap: Quincy Trojans vs. Portola Tigers

The Quincy Trojans's game on Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They snuck past Portola with a 54-49 win. That's another feather in the cap for Quincy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Portola's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Connor Sheridan, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 18 rebounds. Sheridan scored a full 49% of Portola's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Bowling, who scored 15 points along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds.

Quincy's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Portola, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Quincy will play host again and welcome Biggs, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Biggs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday. As for Portola, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Loyalton at 8:30 p.m.
