Football Game Preview: Whiteville Wolfpack vs. Northeastern Eagles

The Whiteville Wolfpack are taking a road trip to take on the Northeastern Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Whiteville sitting on 11 straight victories and Northeastern on 14.

Whiteville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed by Kinston to the tune of 48-21. The Wolfpack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by 27 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Northeastern didn't have too much trouble with James Kenan on Friday as they won 46-28.

Whiteville better keep an eye on Ty'Jae Simpson. He was instrumental in Northeastern's win, rushing for 145 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries.

Northeastern pushed their record up to 14-0 with the win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Whiteville, their record is now 13-1.

Whiteville couldn't quite finish off Northeastern when the teams last played back in November of 2023 and fell 17-14. Thankfully for Whiteville, Tyselle Spencer (who rushed for 215 yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
