Football Game Preview: Davis vs. Sunnyside

If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Sunnyside. They will take on Davis at home at 7:00 PM on Friday. Sunnyside will be strutting in after a victory while Davis will be stumbling in from a defeat.

Sunnyside had a rough outing against Eastmont two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Last Friday, Sunnyside secured a 14-10 W over Wenatchee. No one put up better numbers for Sunnyside than senior Derrick Escamilla, who brought his A game into the match. He picked up 59 yards on the ground and accumulated 127 passing yards.

Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Davis, and their matchup last Friday only extended their streak of losses to seven. They were dealt a punishing 7-54 loss at the hands of West Valley.

Everything came up roses for Sunnyside against Davis the last time the two teams met as the team secured a 47-10 win. Will Sunnyside repeat their success, or does Davis have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
