Volleyball Preview: Curtis Vikings vs. Yelm Tornados

After both having extra time off, the Curtis Vikings and the Yelm Tornados will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Curtis has 14 straight victories, Yelm has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Wednesday, Curtis beat South Kitsap 3-1.

Curtis walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 22-25, 25-9, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Yelm came up short against Bonney Lake on Wednesday and fell 3-1.

Yelm was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Bonney Lake work for it, especially in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 20-25, 25-15, 28-26.

Despite the loss, Yelm saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kinsley Corak had eight digs.

Curtis pushed their record up to 14-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Yelm, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.
