Softball Recap: Reading Takes a Loss

If Reading was feeling good fresh off their 17-1 takedown of Lebanon on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red KNights took a 14-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Berks Catholic Saints on Tuesday. The Red KNights were not able to make up for their defeat to the Saints from their previous meeting back in March of 2025.

Reading got a big performance out of Gabriella Quijano, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Janaya Lugo also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Reading's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Berks Catholic, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reading will take on Twin Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The game will give the Red KNights their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Berks Catholic, they will square off against Fleetwood at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
