With a playoff win on the line, Alamo Heights rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on the Victoria West Warriors with a sharp 41-18 win. The result was nothing new for the Mules, who have now won nine matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.

Dk Garza had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 185 yards and three TDs while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 12th straight game with at least 115 rushing yards. Steffen Torreira was another key rusher, rushing for 70 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Alamo Heights was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 270 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 161 rushing yards in 14 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why Victoria West lost, don't look at Tristan Bernard. Despite the final result, he picked up 68 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 55 yards.

Alamo Heights' record is now 12-1. As for Victoria West, they moved to 10-3 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Alamo Heights will challenge Boerne on Friday. The Greyhounds will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Mules surely won't give up without a fight. Victoria West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
