Football Recap: St. Joseph-Ogden's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four + How To Watch

It's playoff time, and St. Joseph-Ogden had no trouble coming through when it counted. They strolled past the Vandalia Vandals with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 38-24. The victory was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won four games in a row.

St. Joseph-Ogden got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kodey McKinney out in front who rushed for 84 yards and two scores, and also threw for 243 yards and one touchdown. Those 84 rushing yards gave McKinney a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Wyatt Wertz, who rushed for 144 yards and a pair of TDs.

St. Joseph-Ogden didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ryker Lockhart and Wertz.

St. Joseph-Ogden's record is now 8-4. As for Vandalia, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 11-1.

Coming up, St. Joseph-Ogden will challenge Tolono Unity at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 952 yards in their previous games. Vandalia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
