Basketball Recap: West Ottawa Takes a Loss

West Ottawa lost against Grand Haven back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The West Ottawa Panthers came up short against the Grand Haven Buccaneers, falling 77-54. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Buccaneers are ranked 17th).

West Ottawa's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Grand Haven, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Looking ahead, West Ottawa will square off against Caledonia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grand Haven, they will head out on the road to face off against Jenison at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jenison has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight losses, while Grand Haven will come in with four straight wins.
