Baseball Recap: Forest Triumphs

Forest took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against North Marion, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats won by a run and slipped past the Colts 14-13. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by just one run.

Forest got a big performance out of Robert Kohler, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. The Wildcats are 6-1 when Kohler posts two or more runs, but 6-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Daniel Wilson, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Forest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Forest's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-10. As for North Marion, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Forest Wildcats take on Buchholz Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for North Marion, they will challenge Keystone Heights at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
