Rye Country Day skates past Morristown-Beard with ease

The Rye Country Day Wildcats had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past Morristown-Beard 40-10 at home. Rye Country Day pushed the score to 40-8 by the end of the third, a deficit Morristown-Beard cut but never quite recovered from.

Rye Country Day had a senior duo take command as Cole Denson rushed for 170 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry and Patrick Leonard rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Denson is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.

Rye Country Day's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Morristown-Beard, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.

Rye Country Day will take on Poly Prep Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
