Basketball Recap: Jacob Walker Key Part of Team Effort in Sentinels Win

Golden View Classical Academy barely beat Caprock Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Sentinels were the clear victors by a 55-29 margin over the Eagles on Saturday.

Golden View Classical Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacob Walker led the charge by going 6-for-11 to rack up 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. Thanks to that strong game, Walker now owns an excellent 45.5% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Huck Hale, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 15 points and six boards.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Golden View Classical Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Caprock Academy only racked up eight.

Caprock Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Coby Culver, who posted five points.

Golden View Classical Academy's record is now 3-1. As for Caprock Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Golden View Classical Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Front Range Christian at 2:30 p.m. on the 18th. As for Caprock Academy, they have already played their next contest, a 58-57 defeat against Olathe on the 10th.
