Basketball Recap: Window Rock Takes a Loss

Window Rock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 62-54 to the Monument Valley Mustangs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fighting Scouts this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 44-30 back in December of 2024.

Monument Valley found their leader in freshman Meggan Sandoval, who posted 25 points. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for Sandoval. Keiryn Mann was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Window Rock's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Monument Valley, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Window Rock will square off against Chinle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chinle will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Window Rock surely won't give up without a fight. As for Monument Valley, they will challenge Ganado at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monument Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season.
