Football Game Preview: Richland County Tigers vs. Mt. Carmel Golden Aces + How To Watch

Richland County is 1-6 against Mt. Carmel since September of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tigers will look to defend their home field against the Golden Aces at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

If Richland County beats Mt. Carmel with 57 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 57-34 margin over Newton on Friday. The Tigers' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel made easy work of Paris on Friday and carried off a 27-6 victory. The win continues a trend for the Golden Aces in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.

Mt. Carmel found their leader in sophomore River Deisher, who rushed for 187 yards and one TD while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 106 yards and one touchdown while completing 87.5% of his passes. Those 187 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Deisher. Mt. Carmel's leading receiver Shain Meador was Deisher's top target yet again, picking up 75 receiving yards and one score, while also punching in one TD on the ground.

Mt. Carmel was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 341 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 207 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

Richland County's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Mt. Carmel, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Everything came up roses for Richland County against Mt. Carmel when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 33-6 win. In that contest, the Tigers amassed a halftime lead of 21-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
