Baseball Recap: Alcoa Gets the Win

While Alcoa's win against Heritage wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tornadoes sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Mountaineers on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tornadoes have posted since April 14th.

Myles Cox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Miles Watson, who fired off two home runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most home runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Brodie King, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Alcoa and bumps their season record up to 18-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Heritage, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 29-12.

As of now, neither Alcoa nor the Mountaineers have any future games scheduled.
