Baseball Recap: East Aurora Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Alden, East Aurora was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Holland Dutchmen 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Devils have posted against the Dutchmen since April 16, 2015.

Ben Wright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He is becoming a predictor of East Aurora's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is undefeated (and 1-4 when he doesn't).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ross Rozanski, who earned one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.

The victory got East Aurora back to even at 4-4. As for Holland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

East Aurora will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dutchmen: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
