Softball Recap: Hammond Bishop Noll Has No Trouble Against River Forest

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Hammond Bishop Noll and River Forest had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Ingots on Monday. Considering the Warriors have won five contests by more than 13 runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Molly Whelan's shutout, as she gave up just two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caitlyn Walker, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. Aiyanna (Yani) Espinosa was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two doubles.

Hammond Bishop Noll's record is now 5-1. As for River Forest, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Hammond Bishop Noll wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 7-2 loss against Wheeler on the 22nd. As for River Forest, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-0 defeat against Illiana Christian on the 22nd.
