Basketball Recap: Mayville Takes a Loss

Mayville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 79-12 loss at the hands of the Laconia Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 377th, while the Spartans are ranked seventh).

Mayville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Laconia, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Mayville will challenge North Fond du Lac at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Laconia, they will take on Campbellsport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
