Basketball Game Preview: Meridian Warriors vs. Capital Golden Eagles

The Meridian Warriors will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Capital Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meridian has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since November 15.

Last Thursday, Meridian ended up a good deal behind Ridgevue and lost 45-31. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Capital). They came out on top against Butte County by a score of 58-49 on December 7th. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Eagles.

Meridian's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Capital, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Meridian suffered a grim 49-26 defeat to Capital when the teams last played back in January. Can Meridian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
