Basketball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

Springfield was the 51-45 winner over Strath Haven when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Springfield Cougars took a 48-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Strath Haven Panthers on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Panthers are ranked 349th).

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Strath Haven, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Springfield Cougars face off against the Penncrest Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Penncrest will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Springfield surely won't give up without a fight. As for Strath Haven, they will face off against Radnor at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
