Basketball Game Preview: Ritchie County Rebels vs. Ravenswood Red Devils

Ritchie County is 8-2 against Ravenswood since January of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Ritchie County Rebels will head out to square off against the Ravenswood Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. Ritchie County is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Ritchie County is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since February 20, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Doddridge County by a score of 42-39.

Rae Rupert put forth a good effort for the losing side as she went 5-for-11 on her way to 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Chelsie Jeffrey was another key player, putting up eight points.

Even though they lost, Ritchie County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ravenswood, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 56-45 victory over South Harrison on Wednesday.

Ravenswood's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Ritchie County, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.

Ritchie County took their victory against Ravenswood in their previous meeting on February 4th by a conclusive 65-40. In that match, Ritchie County amassed a halftime lead of 38-17, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
