Baseball Recap: Springtown Comes Up Short on the Road Against Burleson

Springtown kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Burleson Elks by a score of 10-9. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Porcupines of the 4-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2019.

Springtown got a good showing from Keegan Martinez, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Springtown got a big performance out of Layton Murrell, who scored a run and stole one base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Ryan Kirk, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Springtown has already played their next match (against Arlington Heights), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Burleson has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Brewer.
