Basketball Game Preview: Somerset Prep vs. American Heritage Patriots

Somerset Prep is 2-8 against American Heritage since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, Somerset Prep will head out on the road to face off against the American Heritage Patriots at 7:00 p.m.

Somerset Prep is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 60-55 heartbreaker at the hands of Miami Christian. While losing is never fun, Somerset Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 563rd, while Miami Christian is ranked 255th).

Meanwhile, American Heritage entered their tilt with Cardinal Newman on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-48 win over the Crusaders.

Somerset Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for American Heritage, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7.

Somerset Prep came up short against American Heritage when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 45-40. Can Somerset Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
