Baseball Recap: Coachella Valley Victorious

Coachella Valley won the last time they faced Twentynine Palms and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mighty Arabs came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 6-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mighty Arabs.

Rey Figueroa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Daniel Ceja was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Coachella Valley's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Twentynine Palms, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coachella Valley will welcome Yucca Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mighty Arabs are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Twentynine Palms, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Indio at 3:15 p.m. The Rajahs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
