Softball Recap: McDowell Takes a Loss

Saturday just wasn't the day for McDowell's offense. They fell just short of the Seneca Bobcats by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty 24 runs in the game before, the Trojans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Bridget Zaczyk spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

With the defeat, McDowell broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-6. As for Seneca, their record is now 12-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. McDowell is set to challenge their familiar foe Erie at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Seneca will face off against rival Iroquois at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
