Baseball Recap: Mcclatchy's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Saturday just wasn't the day for McClatchy's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Elk Grove Thundering Herd on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Lions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

With the loss, McClatchy broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-6. As for Elk Grove, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McClatchy will face off against Grant at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lions are facing the Pacers at the right time seeing as the Pacers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Elk Grove, they are taking a road trip to square off against Sheldon at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Thundering Herd will also cruise into their next match with the timing on their side: the Huskies will have lost 13 straight heading into Monday's contest.
