Baseball Recap: Mountain View Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Mountain View had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Carbondale Area Chargers, sneaking past 7-5. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Josh Miller, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Mountain View is undefeated when Miller posts three or more hits, but 3-6 otherwise. Tanner Holtsmaster was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Mountain View's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Carbondale Area, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Coming up, Mountain View will take on MMI Preparatory School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. MMI Preparatory School has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.82 runs per game on average), something Mountain View will no doubt try to take advantage of.
