It was a good run, but Hammond Morton unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Whiting Oilers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Governors have suffered since October 19, 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-13, 25-8.

Whiting got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sophia Perez out in front who had eight digs and three aces.

Hammond Morton's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Whiting, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hammond Morton will challenge Hobart at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Whiting, they will take on Gary West Side at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
