West Lafayette is 1-9 against Harrison since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Red Devils are taking a road trip to square off against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
West Lafayette took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They walked away with a 10-7 victory over Delphi Community. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Red Devils considering their two-run performance the game before.
Braylon Crisp and Ben Werth made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Crisp pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Werth tossed three innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Crisp has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Crisp went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Werth went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Calvin Snyder, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one double. He has become a key player for West Lafayette: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 2-13 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Doty, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
West Lafayette was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, while Harrison put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Rossville. The Raiders came out on top against the Hornets by a score of 3-0. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Not much got past Lyrik Neal, who gave up just five hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Rossville off the board.
On the hitting side, Sieger Geswein was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
West Lafayette's record is now 6-13. As for Harrison, their record now sits at 11-7.
West Lafayette might still be hurting after the 14-4 loss they got from Harrison in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
