Softball Recap: Athens Wins Going Away Against New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly

Athens got themselves on the board against New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly on Thursday, but New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly never followed suit. They blew past the Vipers 15-0. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Vipers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Isabel Ingram 2026 was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaci Derringer, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.

Athens always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Athens' victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-14.

Athens has already played their next game, a 10-0 defeat against Springfield on the 28th. As for New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 17-1 win against North Greene on the 26th.
