The Edinburgh Lancers will head out on the road to challenge the Living Water Homeschool Marlins at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Edinburgh took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against South Ripley, sneaking past 3-2.

Kenna Streeval made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Streeval wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Barrett, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Living Water Homeschool sidestepped Columbus North for a 4-3 win.
Like Edinburgh, Living Water Homeschool also got a great game from a two-way player: Elena Robertson. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Robertson was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Makenzie Hicks was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
Edinburgh's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Living Water Homeschool, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Living Water Homeschool's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Edinburgh has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .490. It's a different story for Living Water Homeschool, though, as they've only averaged .344. Will they be able to contain Edinburgh's hitters?
Edinburgh might still be hurting after the 18-6 loss they got from Living Water Homeschool in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
