Soccer Game Preview: Ridgeview vs. Stockdale

The Ridgeview Wolf Pack will challenge the Stockdale Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Stockdale will be up against a hot Ridgeview team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Ridgeview put the hurt on Independence with a sharp 4-1 victory on Thursday. Considering the Wolf Pack have won eight games by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Andrew Nava and Angel Ceballos scored all four of Ridgeview's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 21 goals.

Meanwhile, Stockdale hasn't lost a match since December 26, 2024, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Garces Memorial a 4-0 shutout. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Rams are ranked 745th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Stockdale has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-1-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 35 goals over those 13 matches. As for Ridgeview, their win bumped their record up to 13-2-1.

Ridgeview came up short against Stockdale in their previous matchup back in January, falling 2-0. Can Ridgeview avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
