Basketball Recap: Peck Comes Up Short

Peck lost against Richmond back in January of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Peck Pirates were dealt a 60-32 loss at the hands of the Richmond Blue Devils. The matchup marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Peck's loss came despite strong showings from Thomas West and Lucas Trombley. West dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Trombley went 5 of 11 on his way to 11 points and six rebounds. West is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 11 games he's played dating back to last season.

Peck moved to 3-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Richmond, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peck will welcome Sandusky at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Richmond, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Armada at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Armada will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Richmond surely won't give up without a fight.
